Warning The File Could Not Be Opened Swapfile.sys – Avira

When scanning with Avira Antivirus, I get this warning:

C:\swapfile.sys
[WARNING] The file could not be opened!

If you get the warning that the swapfile.sys file cannot be opened by Avira, this is nothing to worry about. This is because the swapfile.sys is not a file that can be opened and be read, like any other .sys archive file. Swapfile.sys is used by Windows to store files that could not be stored in the computers RAM (hardware memory). These files aren’t in a readable format and therefore Avira reports that the swapfile.sys could not be opened.

Summary: Don’t worry, it’s normal!
