Under Devices and Printers, you see a blank file with a red cross and a timer on it,
under “Unspecified”. To get rid of the unspecified printer and install your printer,
just wait for a little while.
Windows 8 will display a printer as unspecified while it finds information about the
printer, aquires and installs the drivers. Once it’s fully installed, the unspecified
printer will automatically appear in the printer list and the unspecified printer will
disappear.
