To fix this and enable you to save to the root of the C: drive, you have to disable UAC! 😮
❗ Warning: This is not advised as UAC is a significant security enhancement and stops many many viruses.
To disable UAC, you have to do this in the registry. Change the value of EnableLUA to 0. EnableLUA can be found in the following registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
You need to restart the PC and you will then be able to save files to the root of the C drive.
