When trying to launch an App-V application you get this error:
Unable to initialize package information (0x00000000)
App-V is unable to initialize package information when you have the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Client installed. This is because the Configuration Manager Client takes control of the virtualized applications, leaving the App-V Client to error with Unable to initialize package information (0x00000000)
To fix the Unable to initialize package information error, either:
- Uncheck Allow virtual application package advertisement in the Configuration Manager Client. (In the SCCM console navigate to Site Database -> Site Management -> Site Name -> Site Settings -> Client Agents. Next open the properties for Advertised Programs Client Agent and uncheck the setting.
- Alternatively you can set the Configuration Manager Client to manage virtualised applications
