      When trying to update Windows or an application, you get:

      ERROR_PATCH_PACKAGE_REJECTED

      Error 1643 (0x66B)
      The update package is not permitted by software restriction policy.

      This is because you are using a software restriction group policy that isn’t allowing the package to install. Amend the group policy to allow the package installation.
