If you get this error in Internet Explorer when trying to download a file:
The signature of this program is corrupt or invalid
This means that either the download was corrupt (possibly by a man-in-the-middle attack, proxy server or flaky connection) or that you don’t have the certificate chain installed on your PC. If the latter is the case, you can either download the file from another browser or disable software with invalid signature to run in Internet Explorer with the following setting:
a) Open Internet Explorer browser from Desktop.
b) From the menu bar select Tools Select Internet Options.
c) In the Internet Options window, select Advanced tab.
d) Scroll down and un-check the Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid
e) Click OK to save the settings. Then close the Internet Options window.
It is advised that you change this setting back after you download the file, in order to protect from man-in-the-middle attacks and other vulnerabilities.
