When opening a Word document you get this error:
The document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document
The document could not be registered refers to the inability to create links from other documents because the Word document is stored in a location who’s file path is too long. To fix this, shorten the file name and / or file path.
If that doesn’t work and you’re still getting The document could not be registered, then you can try re-installing or repairing Microsoft Word.
