If anyone is looking for SM Bus Controller drivers for the bus controller with hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C22&SUBSYS_20498086&REV_04, they can be found on the CD that came with your motherboard. If you want to download the drivers, see if you can get your hands on a driver disk for an Intel DH87RL or DH87MC motherboard. Alternatively, jump on the Intel website and have a look at the specs of those motherboard, work out what the SM Bus Controller is then download the specific driver.

After installing the drivers from the CD, it seems that the SM Bus Controller with hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C22&SUBSYS_20498086&REV_04 is actually an Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series SMBus Controller – 8C22. Hope that helps someone, if you do find a direct download link to the Intel website, please do share it 🙂
