When installing Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7, you get this error:

      Operating System is not supported

However, Windows 7 is a supported operating system for IE 11. To fix this, download and install the IE 11 prerequisites for Windows 7 or use the inline installer for IE 11.

More information: IE 11 says that the operating system is not supported because it’s not detecting the operating system patches that IE 11 needs and because you are using the Offline installer (Internet Explorer 11 for IT Professionals and Developers), which doesn’t automatically detect and install the prerequisite patches for the operating system. The inline installer (online installer) does check and install these patches, so you don’t get the error. The fact that you are getting these errors suggests that you may not be patching Windows 7.

Thank you for your advice. It still gives me the error. Any other idea?

Have you confirmed that you’re using the correct version x64 or x32? Also, are you using an odd version of the operating system, such as RTM or Embedded which might not be supported?

How many computers is it effecting?
