Installing Windows Server 2012 R2 With Intel DH87MC Motherboard

I was having trouble installing Windows Server 2012 R2 on a PC with an Intel DH87MC motherboard, until I found out an important bit of information: Intel DH87MC motherboards don’t support Windows Server 2012 R2, other any other Microsoft server operating system for that matter.

I tried various combinations of things from updating the BIOS to changing the hard drive controller settings in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE, etc. None of which worked. Turns out it was a waste of time. Windows Server 2012 R2 will not work on a PC with a DH87MC motherboard.
