When in datasheet view in SharePoint, when you hit enter to do a carriage return it won’t do a new line. To do a new line (carriage return) in SharePoint datasheet view, first resize the row to make space for the new line, then press Alt + Enter.
❗ Alt + Enter won’t create a new line in SharePoint unless you resize the row first!
