Why does my print job says spooling? Your print job says spooling because that’s the name of the process that formats the print job into a format that the printer can understand. When the print job says spooling, that can also include sending the print job to the printer.
If your print jobs says spooling for an excessive period of time, you may have one of the following issues:
- The printer driver may be wrong – try installing the latest printer driver for that printer. If you are using terminal services, this can be on either the printer or the server
- The printer might be broken
- The print job might be corrupted
- The print job spool might be too large for the printer – try adding more memory to the printer
