Want to know what the difference between Symantec System Recovery and Backup Exec is? When choosing between Symantec System Recovery Vs Backup Exec you need to know the following:

Backup Exec is Symantec’s file based backup product. It can have a selection of agents that plug into it, such as SQL, Active Directory and Exchange agents. It can also do VM backups using the right agent.

Symantec System Recovery is Symantec’s modern version of Symantec Ghost. It’s an image based backup, or block level backup as Symantec would say.

When considering Backup Exec vs Symantec System Recovery, you really need to understand the difference between file backup and image backup. Also, you need to make sure that your backup solution is appropriate for your architecture (please start a new discussion thread if you need advice or help).
