When trying to restore a VM from backup using the NetApp VMware plug-in, it gets stuck at 44%. If your NetApp Restore from Backup gets stuck, it should eventually time out. If it doesn’t, try the following:
- Restart the SMVI service
- Restart the vCenter server
- Try killing the stuck restore job from the NetApp plugin
The NetApp plug-in can get stuck if you are trying to restore a VM when a VM with the same name exists in another or the same datastore. Restarting the SMVI service on the vCenter may cause the other VM with the same name to shut down and migrate datastores before powering up again.
