When trying to open a VM in VMware Workstation, you get this error:
VMware Workstation
Unable to open kernel device “\\.\Global\vmx86”: The system cannot find the file specified. Did you reboot after installing VMware Workstation?
Failed to initialize monitor device.
I fixed this by uninstalling VMware Workstation and installing it again, except this time I right clicked the installer and clicked Run as Administrator. Then, I didn’t update from 9.2 to 9.4 after it installed.
