    I get this error on Windows 7 when viewing my mouse properties:

    Unable to connect to the Synaptics pointing device driver.

    If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver please uninstall the Synaptics driver…

    This error typically occurs if you have a problem with your Synaptics pointing (mouse) device driver.

    Click No to ignore the message and keep working. If the Unable to connect to the Synaptics pointing device driver persists, download a new driver from the Synaptics website, uninstall the current driver by clicking Yes, reboot and install the newly downloaded driver if necessary.
