When trying to specify a username and password to use to monitor a server, PowerAdmin Server Monitor gives this error:

The username and password for user XXX don’t match, or the given user doesn’t have the right to login to this (YYY) computer. The credentials have not been saved. The operating system reports: The username or password is incorrect. The LocalSystem account is currently being used, which cannot use other credentials. Change the PA Server Monitor service to run as a local or domain account. [Err=0x52E (1326), CurrUser=SYSTEM, Imp={none}].

If you can confirm that the given user can login to this machine with those credentials, please email support@poweradmin.com with this error. [ver 5.8.0 (Build 307)]

This kind of implies that the user and password need to work for the remote computer you are monitoring AND the PowerAdmin Server Monitor console computer – this is not the case!

This happens when the username, domain or password is wrong or a firewall is blocking PowerAdmin.
