Streaming Transcoding Failed. VLC Could Not Open The Encoder

When trying to convert an AVI file into an MP4 file, you get this error:

Streaming: Transcoding failed
VLC could not open the encoder.

VLC Player will report a Transcoding failed error if you don’t have the encoder installed that you wanted to convert into. When the encoding has finished, run the file to see if VLC is missing the video or audio encoder. If the video is missing, convert the file again using a different video encoder option, or download the encoder that you are missing.
