When trying to edit a VM, you get this message in the title bar:
Read-only as vmrest is operating the VM
It’s read-only because either:
- The VM was shut down improperly, suspended/paused, causing a lock file to exist on the VM.
To fix this scenario, either shut down the VM and delete the .lck files, or power up and shut down the VM properly.
- The file permissions are set to read-only.
This should fix the Read-only as vmrest is operating the VM issue.
