When trying to conenct to a VM to convert, Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter gives this error:

      Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter

      xxx cannot resolve with DNS.

You get this message even if you use the IP address to connect to the virtual machine.

To fix this, first try connecting via IP address. If that doesn’t work,

Did you resolve this issue? I’m having the same problem.

      Thanks

Hi, I don’t even remember having that problem. For the sake of anyone else finding this article, it’s be great if you share whatever fixes it.

Have you tried disabling any firewalls and making sure that the two machines are on the same subnet? Also do the machines have the same gateway? Also, try restarting the DNS Client service on both machines.

I’ve managed to p to v this physical server before, but the network card wouldn’t work (had to go back to using the physical server). Can’t seem to get past the first step this time!

Both firewalls are disabled and AV. Restarted both machines and DNS still no luck.

I’ll post on here if I find the cause.

      Thanks
