Whenever an author updates a theme, WordPress always wants to update it, losing any theme modifications you’ve made. To stop a WordPress theme asking to update all the time, edit the theme’s style.css file and change the name of the theme at the top of the CSS file. Also change the author details, version and URL. That way, WordPress won’t know where the theme came from and won’t be able to say that there’s an update because the update will have a different name.
Unfortunately, this takes some time for WordPress to realise that the update is no longer applicable to the theme after you renamed it. But after a few weeks, the update will go away and it will stop asking you to update the theme.
