Annoyingly, by default when you open a Windows Explorer window it takes you to a set of folders you don’t want, called Quick Access. If you just want to go straight to “This PC” when Windows Explorer opens, in Windows Explorer click View -> Options (Change folder and search options, if it asks you), then change Open file explorer to: to “This PC”.
Windows Explorer should now open “This PC” be default.
