How To Make Dungeon Keeper 2 Work On Windows 8

When you try to run Dungeon Keeper 2 on Windows 8 the screen will either go black / blank or the mouse will lag. To fix this lag / black / blank screen and make Dungeon Keeper 2 work on Windows 8, just do the following:

1. Right click the shortcut that you use to run Dungeon Keeper 2 and click on Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (SP3). Untick all other boxes on this tab. Try Dungeon Keeper 2 because this might have fixed the lag issue.
2. If that doesn’t work and you still get a blank / black screen or lag, then open the Control Panel then open the NVIDIA Control Panel. Under 3D Settings click on Manage 3D Settings. Select the Program tab and click the Add button. Now add the exe filename of Dungeon Keeper 2 (you can select it from a list of recently launched programs). Turn the various features off for the Dungeon Keeper 2 application. I can’t tell you the exact settings, because it’s different for every graphics card 🙁 Some graphics cards, you won’t have to do this step at all 😮
