If you uninstall the WSUS feature and WID Database, it won’t actually delete the WSUS data or database. To completely delete WSUS, you need to:
- Remove the WSUS and Windows Internal Database (WID) roles / features
- Delete the C:\windows\WID\Data file (or other database if you’re not using WID
- Delete the WSUS Content (you would have specified the location of the WSUS data when you installed WSUS – note that this is not the same as the WSUS database). This will be a couple of folders containing a lot of files
You can now reinstall WSUS, if that’s why you’re deleting WSUS here 🙂
