When trying to install an NVIDA GeForce graphics card driver, I get:
Found New Hardware Wizard is open.
Close the wizard to continue installation or wait until it is finished
The problem is that I can’t close the Found New Hardware Wizard because it’s trying to install new hardware, not very successfully.
To fix this, you need to open the Found New Hardware Wizard from the notification area (next to the clock on the bottom right of the screen) and find out what hardware it is trying to install drivers for. Then open the Device Manager and disable the hardware that causing the Found New Hardware Wizard to be open.
Then, after rebooting your PC you should be able to install the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card driver without the PC complaining that the Found New Hardware Wizard is open and needs to be closed. Once your driver is installed, you can then enable the decives that you disabled in the Device Manager to continue.
❗ Note: The PC may take a long time to shut down because the Found New Hardware Wizard is open and trying to install drivers. You can either try to kill the installs before you reboot (try killing any open MSIExec processes in the Task Manager, perhaps?), or remove the power to your PC if you can’t wait.
