Error 1919 Office 2003 Windows 10

When trying to install Office 2003 on Windows 10, you get this error:

Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source

There are a number of variations of error 1919, relating to different aspects of Office 2003. To fix the error configuring the ODBC data sources for Office 2003, you can install MDAC then hit ignore on the errors – which seems to work for Windows 10. If you are using Windows 8, installing the MDAC components should get rid of the errors all together.
