Cisco AnyConnect Failed To Initialized Connection Subsystem – Windows 10

When running Cisco AnyConnect on Windows 10, you get this error

Failed to initialized connection subsystem

To fix the Failed to initialized connection subsystem error:

1. navigate to the Cisco AnyConnect executable (vpnui.exe)
2. Right click the executable
3. Click Properties
4. Select the Compatibility tab
5. Under Compatibility mode tick Run this program in compatibility mode for:
6. Select Windows 8 in the drop down
7. Click OK

Cisco AnyConnect should not start with giving the Failed to initialized connection subsystem error.
